The Tarsus Group, organiser of the OFFPRICE Show, has announced a new regional show on the heels of successful Las Vegas Fashion Week event. OFFPRICE has been a staple at Las Vegas Fashion Week for over 28 years. Known for its high margin opportunities, in-season, branded goods and a go-to for retailers and brands to build relationships and secure agreements. Organisers say that February's OFFPRICE Show in Las Vegas has led to a decision to expand the 2023 show calendar into a regional Florida show.
The Vegas show floor had seen the return of many large retailers previously unable to attend, as well as mid-size chain stores and independent retailers. “You can tell that businesses are feeling a weight lifted coming out of the pandemic and returning to the market with stronger buyer power than in past years. The buyers were serious about writing orders, finding new product, and doing business.” noted Tricia Barglof, executive director of OFFPRICE.
Alongside 10% more exhibitors than last show, OFFPRICE offered a range of exclusive show specials and sourcing opportunities not available outside of the OFFPRICE Show floor.
“Many retailers have shifted their business approach due to changing customer demographics and shopping habits in today’s economic climate, so they come to OFFPRICE to develop relationships with vendors who can meet these new demands. Our marketplace offers flexibility, quick turnaround, and low risk on wholesale orders that buyers can’t access elsewhere. For those reasons, we also strive to be a year-round resource for buyers and continuously showcase the array of unique opportunities available in this market,” said Audrey Taylor, global business retail manager for OFFPRICE.
Since the pandemic, trade shows have seen a shift in registration trends. While attendees are registering later for shows, this year’s pre-registration totals nearly equalled those tracked in February 2020. However, it’s apparent that retailers, especially small businesses, are still facing barriers such as staffing shortages and inflation, making it harder to travel to as many shows as they did in the past.
“Meanwhile, the OFFPRICE brand will return to the east coast, bringing the deals closer to those who cannot make it to Vegas.” Barglof noted. “Surveys from the August show led us to Orlando, with it’s easy drive and air lift from the Northeast, Midwest, Caribbean, and more.”
The event will focus on wholesale brands, distributors of closeouts and overproduced, immediate/in-season, and cost-friendly good.
“This debut show was thoughtfully researched leaning heavily on our buyer audience and vendor partners to deliver this new event. In expanding our footprint, the show is designed for sourcing the upcoming winter season and early spring,” Barglof added.
The two-day marketplace will be held 17-18 October, 2023 at the Orange County Convention Center, located in Orlando, Florida.
