Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre will now offer its most enthusiastic trade fair visitors a new benefit: a season ticket. The ticket grants unlimited admission to the centre’s public events organised during the autumn of 2023 through to spring of 2024. Such events include, Habitare, Helsinki Book Fair, Matka Nordic Travel Fair, and the Spring Fair. The season ticket is valid from 1 September 2023 to 31 May 2024.
The ticket allows access to a total of 16 public events during the season and enables visitors to attend their favourite events several times.
Visitors will be able to spend the whole weekend at the four-day Helsinki Book Fair and visit the Helsinki Boat Show over two weekends, so the price of the season ticket quickly pays off, says Lumia Ankkuri, the centre’s marketing and communications director.
The season ticket can be purchased from the centre’s online shop. The standard price of the ticket is €60e, and €50e for existing and joining Messuklubi (Fair Club) members. Messuklubi is a free loyalty club which offers its members benefits via newsletters throughout the year.
According to a study published by research company nSight at the beginning of the year, only 3% of Finns between the ages of 18 and 70 have never attended a fair. About 10% of consumers estimate that they will visit fairs more often in the future than prior to the pandemic.
The study also shows that consumers visit fairs primarily in search of inspiration, information, and novelties. Moreover, visitors appreciate the interactive nature of fairs. For many, fairs are not only events but also memorable and unique experiences. According to the study, Finns are most interested in events relating to living, design, and food.
The Helsinki centre, which attracts around 1 million visitors a year, believes that no other Finnish exhibition organiser offers this type of ticket.
