European creative design and event agency, Enigma Creative Solutions (ECS), has appointed Jon Gowar as its new group managing director, with immediate effect. Gowar has been with the company for five years, most recently running the ECS business operation in the US.
ECS reports a year of success, providing design and construct installations for the likes of Accenture, Qualcomm, ARM and Dell at Mobile World Congress in February/March 2023. Other notable highlights were eight category wins in the World Exhibition Stands Awards in Q4 2022.
Gowar’s appointment allows ECS founders, Dominic Softly and Alan Surman, who will continue in their roles of chief executive officer and chief creative officer respectively, to focus on the development and implementation of the company’s strategic goals. These include further sustainable growth into overseas markets.
Also a part of the new senior leadership team is Geoff Iredale, who has been promoted to ECS head of client services. Iredale brings over 20 years of industry experience, on both agency and client side, working with global brands like Google and Bentley.
Commenting on his appointment Jon Gowar said; “Over the last 35 years Dom and Al have successfully built Enigma into a customer-focused business which consistently delivers the highest standards of work. It has been built on the foundations of integrity, fairness and a consistency in quality that has not only yielded double digit growth over the past seven years but has also generated a hugely loyal client base. Some clients have retained us to be their agency partner of choice for over 10 consecutive years. That’s a hard-earned achievement in an era of growing procurement complexity, financial scrutiny and a highly competitive ecosystem.”
Gowar said his goal was “to provide the client base with the return on their investment they deserve, while building and developing a team of event practitioners that are renowned across the sector”.
“We are now uniquely placed to take advantage of the huge opportunities that the US region offers us. With that in mind, we have been working hard to ensure our structure leaves us able to scale the business as the growth continues, and that we have the right people in the right roles,” commented Dominic Softly.
