Carlo Zoccali (pictured) has announced that he has left his venue and show director role at the UK's Farnborough International to become chief commercial officer and board member at FullyCharged Show and FullyCharged LIVE.
Zoccali joins the electric car event and channel as the company enters a new growth phase. Bolstered by £1.2m of direct investment, funds will be invested from Q4 2023 to strengthen the exhibition sales business – 13 years since the first episode of the Fully Charged Show on YouTube and five years since the first Fully Charged LIVE exhibition.
Reflecting on his time at Farnborough International, Zoccali said: “Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of this remarkable organisation’s growth into one of the South of England’s premier exhibition destinations, now proudly welcoming over 600,000 visitors annually, and establishing an award-winning team.
“I’ve been fortunate to learn and grow under the guidance of Gareth Rogers, who entrusted me to drive the business forward. The journey has been nothing short of amazing, filled with memories of overcoming challenges and forging a customer-centric path that I’m proud to have contributed to.
“To my dedicated team and colleagues, I extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support, guidance, and trust. We’ve shared moments of laughter, tears, and tribulations, and I cherish every one of them.”
Charged up
As well as Zoccali, new senior executives set to join the FullyCharged business from September onwards include Natalie Vaughan – formerly event operations manager at Goodwood Festival of Speed – as head of event operations; and Claire Cullen – formerly marketing director at Giant Digital – as head of Fully Charged’s campaign Stop Burning Stuff.
Zoccali will be joining as a full board member, alongside the current chief financial officer Calvin Sellers, chief operations officer Jo Caesar and chief production officer Will Scammell.
The quarterly board will begin in January and will be chaired by CEO Dan Caesar and founder Robert Llewellyn. It will be administered by head of people Laura Rivet.
Several non-executive directors are also set to join, including TV presenters Helen Czerski and Quentin Willson, and technology expert Simon Hackett, who heads up The Hackett Trust.
Robert Llewellyn said: “It’s been an amazing decade or so for the Fully Charged Show. The changes we are making are designed to ensure that the next decade will be even better still.”
FullyCharged Show CEO Dan Caesar said: “Strengthened by direct investment, we will be able to exploit existing and near-term opportunities and it’s testament to the strength of the Fully Charged Show that we are able to attract top talent from the likes of Farnborough International, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Giant Digital. Furthermore, the ability to draw on the experience of three truly exceptional non-executive directors will be invaluable.”
