Toronto’s Direct Energy Centre re-named Enercare Centre
in $7.5m deal

New naming rights have been agreed for Canada’s largest exhibition and convention facility. What was formerly the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto is now named ‘Enercare Centre’, following the acquisition of Direct Energy’s Ontario Home Services business by Enercare Inc.

The Board of Governors of Exhibition Place concluded a multi-year naming rights sponsorship agreement for renaming the venue.

This naming rights agreement for the centre which hosted the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games is effective through to 31 May, 2026.

The CAD$7.5m (US$5.73) agreement includes title sponsorship of the centre, creation of a new logo, exterior signage and a public space in the Galleria of the building to showcase Enercare Inc.’s products and services.

“We are pleased to announce that our facility will be referred to as Enercare Centre, effective immediately,” said Exhibition Place Chair Mark Grimes. “This relationship with Enercare Inc. is vital in maintaining our status as North America’s best exhibition and convention centre.”

John Macdonald, president and CEO of Enercare, added: “We are pleased to become the naming rights partner for Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place. The opportunity is unique and offers some highly compelling benefits that will enhance our business. We look forward to working with the team at Exhibition Place as we move to the next stage of activating the sponsorship relationship”.

Located at Exhibition Place is the Enercare Centre and the Allstream Centre conference venue.
