Swapcard report shows exhibitors losing 60% of attendee outreach

A new report by Swapcard shows that exhibitors are missing out on 60% of attendee outreach.

Swapcard, event management platform, has released ‘The State of Event Management’, a collection of data about exhibitor and organiser performance at events. Over 2000 global events and 2.5m participants were analysed. The results showed that organisers and exhibitors are not maximising their return.

 The key findings were:

  • Pre-event lead generation – 67% of networking and 40% of leads occur before the event begins
  • Beyond badge scanning – 75% of lead generation happens outside of badge scanning
  • Missing ROI – exhibitors miss out on more than 60% of attendee outreach due to unaccepted connection requests
  • AI success – AI recommendations have proven to increase connection

“The data confirms what we’ve long suspected,” said Baptiste Boulard, CEO of Swapcard. “Many event organisers and exhibitors are not leveraging events at their full potential. The purpose of this report is to reveal hidden opportunities that can drastically increase event outcomes and improve our industry overall.”
