A new event around technical insulation, TI-Expo + Conference, hosted at Messe Essen in Germany recently, drew 1,300 visitors, and organisers have already set a date for the 2023 edition, 29-30 March. They added that the show will now run annually.
The German insulation industry had last met live in 2018, and organisers say the joy of reunion was evident on site at the venue in the west of the country for the new show which attracted many visitors from neighbouring Benelux.
TI-Expo project manager Christian Poell said the show premiere was timely for the sector: “We are pleased that TI-Expo + Conference has got off to such a good start.
“In the current situation, achieving the German government's climate targets is a high priority… For next year, we would like to bring even more enthusiastic experts to Essen who are interested in further training and knowledge transfer.”
Two partner associations, ZDB and HDB in the national context, and EiiF and FESI in the international context, had made a major contribution to the show’s success, said Poell, who added that the 60-plus exhibitors covered all aspects of technical insulation for industry and buildings.
Parallel to the TI-Expo, leading experts provided information on topics from the fields of energy efficiency and sustainability, standards and guidelines, digitalisation, research and development, and maintenance and services at the TI-Conference attended by around 80 delegates.
The organisers of the TI-Expo, Henning and Thilo Könicke, managing directors of AFAG, say they are already looking ahead to 2023: “It was just fun to meet again and get started with the new format. The industry has waited far too long to meet live. The new platform worked and it was a sensational first launch.”
