Reed Exhibitions Americas has made a change to the leadership structure in its Mexico business unit.
Michael Mandl, currently Group VP of Reed Exhibitions US, has been appointed CEO, Reed Exhibitions Mexico and succeeds Philippe Surman.
Surman was the founder of Fidalex, a business acquired by Reed Exhibitions a couple of years ago. He has decided to look for new opportunities.
Hervé Sedky, President of Reed Exhibitions Americas, made the announcement of the change and commented: “Michael is very customer-driven with deep leadership capabilities, and I am confident he can help lead the Mexico business to even greater success.”
Mandl has been with the US business for three years overseeing a portfolio of large-scale shows in various industries. Most recently, he led the integration of the Mack Brooks business in the US, and has secured the growth of international launches using his global business development experience and network.
Before joining RX US, Mandl worked in several senior management positions for RX globally including India (business unit CEO), Germany and Austria.
“I am excited about this great opportunity,” said Mandl. “RX Mexico has been growing since we first entered the market in 2011, and I look forward to being a part of such a vibrant organisation that has delivered incredible customer impact and success.”
Mandl will report to Sedky and he and his family will re-locate to Mexico City in January.
