The shape of things to come? Bar Convent Brooklyn (BCB), a Reed Exhibitions trade show for the US beverage industry returns to the Brooklyn Expo Center 17-18 August. The trade-only event for qualified bar and beverage industry professionals only will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry.
As well as being able to prove they are 21 or over to gain admittance to Bar Convent Brooklyn, visitors must provide documentation demonstrating trade affiliation and evidence of being vaccinated against coronavirus.
The organiser’s show statement carried the following advice: “All attendees will need to be fully vaccinated and must show proof of vaccination at time of entry in addition to mask requirements and more safety features. Each day the event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m."
Sam Lippman of Lippman Connects and producer of the Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF) in the USA shared his take on the development with EW: “Communities/industries/professions that require proof of vaccination (such as bars and restaurants in NYC) continue this requirement to participate in their events. So medical events such as HIMSS and HLTH are requiring proof of vaccination while a construction show, World of Concrete, and a gift show, NY NOW do not.”
