The Bavarian state government is to allow the resumption of exhibition operations from 1 September, 2021. It is a decision that allows for more planning security for exhibitors and visitors.
NürnbergMesse welcomed the decision taken on 18 May, which includes the further easing of coronavirus measures.
Dr Roland Fleck, joint CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group, said the decision sent an important signal for all exhibitors and visitors to tradefairs planned in the autumn.
“We welcome the decision of the Bavarian state government, which is taking an important and correct step. The possible restart on 1 September gives our customers more planning security and perspectives for our exhibitions in the autumn.”
NürnbergMesse joint CEO Peter Ottmann said his company and its service partners were well prepared for the planned restart: “Since the start of the pandemic, we have been in constant liaison with the health authorities. Together, we have developed a comprehensive hygiene concept that makes safe tradefair operations possible. At the same time, a restart in September will provide the urgently needed economic impetus for the exhibition and congress city of Nuremberg.”
The September reopening has seen many local industries breathe a sigh of relief due to their businesses being connected with the events at NürnbergMesse, such as the hotel industry, gastronomy, transport companies and exhibition stand builders.
The first event planned NürnbergMesse in the autumn is the European Coatings Show 2021, 14-16 September, 2021. Around 500 exhibitors have already registered for the tradeshow, while 28-30 September are the dates for FACHPACK, the European Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology and Processes.
Even before the state government’s announcement, nearly 800 exhibitors had registered for FACHPACK, which is being planned on-site with additional digital offerings. Many other leading international tradefairs and congresses are planned for the Nuremberg autumn season.
