Day 2 of the 87th UFI Global Congress – the first ever all-digital – delivered another eventful dose of exhibition learning, advice, experience and forecasting. The Asian partners and delegates were to the fore as their key sessions delivered plenty of relevant content, including ‘Managing Venues in Crisis’. Major venue and organiser big hitters shared their views including Hong Kong CEC MD Monica Lee-Müller, BITEC MD Panittha Buri, GM of Shenyang New World Expo Diane Chen and Informa CEO and President of Asia Michael Duck. For those not in the Asia time zone, you can still pick up the pace of debate on demand via the UFI Congress platform.
There you will also catch MCI global executive vice-president Oscar Cerezales’ penetrating insights from his session on ‘The Art & Science of Scenario Planning’. He shared a view on how our ecosystem will change and what he believes the main implications are for the industry.
The Day 2 content also shared many examples of how challenges were met in a concrete way, including the challenges of organising an exhibition during Covid, as related by Mathias Kuepper, MD at Koelnmesse Pte Ltd (Singapore). He also drew valuable lessons learned ranging from the challenges of international travel to marketing and staging the event itself.
Tim Groot, CEO and co-founder at Grip, (UFI Digital Innovation Award Winner 2020) took to the UFI digital platform provided by his company for the Congress and shared his company's experience of putting together a digital version of ITB Berlin in just two days!
And as the studios at Corferias Bogota swing into action for the Americas programming, UFI Congress delegates can expect to hear from World Travel and Tourism Council CEO and president Gloria Guevara Manzo. Her keynote session is titled ‘Travel is the key to recovery’.
Other sessions on the 17th include on Government and Associations and we hear from Hannover Fairs Mexico, the UFI Marketing Award Winner 2020.
As ever, the congress has plenty of opportunities for networking, so get involved! There's still time to register and join in here in this record-breaking event: https://bit.ly/2IbhD09
