The Board of Management of AUMA – the Association of the German Tradefair Industry has unanimously elected Peter Ottmann (pictured, 53), CEO of NürnbergMesse, as First Deputy Chairman.
The decision was made at AUMA’s meeting in Frankfurt 9 June. Ottmann will alternate on the AUMA Board of Management with his CEO-colleague Dr Roland Fleck since 2011.
“AUMA is playing an outstanding role in these challenging times, especially when it comes to highlighting the importance of Germany as a tradefair destination both nationally and internationally. I am looking forward to supporting the Chairman of AUMA, Philip Harting, together with the Second Deputy Chairman, Klaus Kremers, in his demanding task in the next three years,” said Ottmann.
He replaces Werner M. Dornscheidt, who has held this office since 2009 and who is retiring as Chief Executive Officer at Messe Düsseldorf at the end of June.
AUMA has 73 members, including 38 associations of the exhibiting and visiting industries as well as service companies and 35 tradefair organisers.
