MECC Maastricht in the Netherlands has announced it will offer its venue free of charge to organisers who have been forced to cancel or postpone their event because of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
The service comes on the condition that the organiser hosts the next three editions of the same event at MECC Maastricht.
The proposal comes on the back of a series of high-profile cancellations and postponements. These include the London Book Fair, Diversified Communications’ Seafood Expo, the UFI Asia Pacific Conference, and more.
In a statement, MECC Maastricht said: “[our] flexible venue aims to offer a suitable solution for organisers who are confronted with a force majeure situation.”
