The city of Dubai has recently put the finishing touches to the Al Wasl Dome, its centrepiece venue for Expo 2020.
The world’s most pre-eminent global exposition comes to Dubai from 20 October – 10 April 2021, and the Al Wasl Dome has been an enormous construction project, dubbed ‘the jewel of the Expo 2020 site’.
The dome will feature the world’s largest 360 degree projection surface, and took 14 months to build.
The 550-tonne structure was lowered into place last week. The event organisers are calling it “a feat of precision engineering, needing millimetre accuracy.”
