IFEMA, Spain-based organisers of next year’s FITUR global tourism tradefair in Madrid, have launched FITUR TALENT, a new specialised section of the show which will focus on talent, skills and professional development.
Companies need people able to interact with the new digital tourist (exacting, hyperconnected and omnichannel) and who have the knowhow to manage the new technologies that are making huge impacts on the business of tourism (such as big data and analytics, artificial intelligence, chatbots, blockchain and IoT). Therefore, the recruitment and retention of this new talent is essential to future competitiveness in the tourism industry, including business tourism.
FITUR TALENT will feature an exhibition space with innovative and specialised content, as well as seminars, workshops and meetings which will analyse the perspectives and strategies of some of the world’s leading tourism businesses, talent recruitment and management companies and training centres.
FITUR 2020 takes place 22-26 January at Feria de Madrid, with Korea as official Partner Country in the show’s 40th anniversary year.
The last FITUR tradefair attracted 10,400 participating companies and 253,000 attendees.
