The NFL’s Oakland Raiders have selected AEG Facilities, a division of sports, venue and live entertainment company AEG, to operate their in-construction 65,000-seat stadium.
The Las Vegas Stadium is set to open August 2020, costing approximately $2bn. It will be a multi-purpose, domed stadium hosting events including concerts, collegiate championships, international sporting events, family shows, festivals and corporate events.
AEG Facilities will oversee pre-opening functions including the hiring and training of the venue’s staff, as well as planning the stadium’s opening schedule. It will also handle guest services, event operations, booking, security, ticketing, finance and human resources.
Bob Newman, president, AEG Facilities, commented: “We are honoured to have the opportunity to partner with one of sports’ most recognizable, successful and iconic international brands, and with a city known as the ‘sports and entertainment capital of the world’. The new stadium will set new standards for fan experience.
“The addition of the Las Vegas Stadium into our global stadia network will provide immediate opportunities to bring new high-profile events to Las Vegas to take advantage of the incredible new stadium and a city that knows how to deliver best in class experiences and events.”
