TAITRA has declared its new ‘Gold Standard Green’ exhibition hall at the Nangang venue in Taipei open and Taiwan's President, Tsai Ing-Wen was present, 4 March, to cut the ribbon.
The 27th Taipei International Machine Tool Show, TIMTOS, 4-9 March, was the first international tradeshow in to the new facility, taking four exhibition halls — TWTC Hall 1 and Hall 3, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 and the new Hall 2.
TIMTOS hosted 1,230 exhibitors from 26 countries across 7,000 booths, creating a new record and becoming the world’s third largest machine tool tradeshow in 2019. The tradeshow drew 7,500 international buyers and 52,700 Taiwanese industry visitors.
The organisers also hosted the second TIMTOS Summit for industry experts and executives. Future trends across four topics are in focus at the Summit: Machine Intelligence and AIoT, Additive Manufacturing, Automotive Manufacturing Revolution and Innovation in Aerospace Manufacturing. TIMTOS is jointly organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI).
The Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center’s new hall adds 34,120sqm in exhibition and meeting space and cost US$240m. The new space has a multi-functional conference hall that can be converted into 14 separate breakout rooms. The venue now has 30 meeting rooms and is able to accommodate more than 5,000 exhibition booths.
The additional exhibition capacity is expected to drive growth of several events organised by TAITRA.
