ITE Group’s edTech event Bett has announced two further management changes and the launch of a new Global Education Council.
The Bett Global Education Council aims to bring together key leaders and stakeholders in education across the globe, to ensure a united voice in the development of the global education agenda.
Leading this initiative will be José Papa, a leader within the TMT sector, who has been appointed in an advisory role as Chairman of the Bett portfolio, effective immediately.
Supporting Papa and the rest of the Bett leadership team, Eve Harper will take up the position of event director for the UK Bett show, effective from 15 February.
The appointments will be charged with delivering the next phase of investment in the brand and to continue to deliver growth across Bett’s 2020 shows.
This follows the significant investment and management restructure announced last year, when ITE Group acquired the Ascential Events brands.
The portfolio also continues to work closely with BESA, its main strategic partner, on guiding customers across the edtech spectrum.
Mark Shashoua, CEO of ITE Group, commented: “Bett is a market-leading, global brand dedicated to driving the education agenda by bringing together those who want to create a better future by transforming education.
“I am delighted that José has agreed to take up this advisory role, particularly given his long-standing interest in Educar, and I am confident that with José and Eve now added to the leadership team we will continue to see Bett go from strength to strength.”
Papa added: “Education is the world’s engine for development and the Bett portfolio is the global centre stage for it. I couldn’t feel more enthused and proud to be part of such an exciting venture together with the most visionary leaders.”
