Tourism fair FITUR 2019, taking place in Madrid from 23-27 January, has announced a new B2B area focusing on MICE tourism.
FITUR MITM – MICE & Business will contain a schedule of up to 30 pre-established appointments between exhibitor companies. It will provide a networking tool focused on incentives, meetings and business travel tourism.
FITUR hopes the new area will connect exhibitors to 100 highly-qualified international executives in the sector, who will be attending the event.
In recent years, MICE tourism has grown and become a key option for the industry, demonstrated by the 12,558 conferences of international associations held throughout the world in 2017, according to data from the International Congress and Convention Association, ICCA.
The ranking placed Spain in fourth position (564 conferences), after the United States (941), Germany (682) and the United Kingdom (592).
FITUR 2019 will be a global meeting point for tourism professionals, and it will once again be the leading trade fair for the incoming and outgoing markets of Latin America. The last edition brought together 251,000 participants, with over 6,800 business meetings.
