Spanish fashion exhibitions MOMAD Metropolis and MOMAD Shoes recently concluded in Madrid from 7-9 September, with a combined 15,120 visitors between them.
MOMAD Metropolis is an international fashion show, while MOMAD Shoes is an international footwear and accessories show. Both were held at IFEMA-Feria de Madrid across 15,000sqm of exhibition space.
MOMAD Metropolis saw 965 brands and 480 direct exhibitors attending, presenting their collections for the 2019 Spring/Summer season and 2018/19 Autumn/Winter Fast Fashion.
MOMAD Shoes received 82 exhibitors, and was co-located with PUERICULTURA MADRID, an international exhibition of children’s products.
One of the most important aspects in this edition of MOMAD was the strong international element in both trade shows. In the case of MOMAD Metropolis, 45% of participating brands were foreign. The event organised an international buyers’ programme formed by 47 brands from markets that are strategic for Spanish fashion.
Sustainable fashion has also continued to gain ground at MOMAD through its Sustainable Experience area. This was shared by MOMAD Metropolis and MOMAD Shoes, and brought together textiles, footwear and accessories. The sustainable sector, with more than 43 companies at this edition, grew by 10% compared to last February.
There was also a complete line-up of events that included conferences, workshops, fashion shows, exhibitions and debates centring on fashion and footwear. The MOMAD Forum proved particularly successful, featuring presentations and roundtables on new fashion trends and strategies.
