IFEMA, the trade fair institution of Madrid, has announced it will be bringing a new tourism campaign to FITUR, its international tourism trade fair.
FITUR will be held in Madrid from 23-27 January 2019, and will feature the FITUR-cine/screen tourism section. This will be dedicated to promoting tourism to areas which have featured in popular films and TV shows.
IFEMA says this is a growing area of the tourism industry, which helps diversify the locations on offer and fight against the seasonality of the sector. It also allows FITUR to connect the tourism and film industries, with the help of the Spain Film Commision (SFC).
To carry out this project, IFEMA director general Eduardo Lopez-Puertas and SFC president Carlos Rosado signed a collaborative agreement on 25 July.
Lopez-Puertas said: “Presenting this new dedicated space represets a sterp forward in our attempts to ontegrate vertical sectors into FITUR, sector which represent jobs, business and growth for the tourism industry, as is the case with the fluorishimng screen tourism segment.”
The new FITUR-cine/screen tourism section will have its own dedicated space on the showfloor, featuring an exhibition area with the offerings different participants have available. There will also be a B2b area and a series of lectures, organised in collaboration with the SFC.
