Launching in Nuremberg next year, from 21 to 23 May 2019, MedtecLIVE is set to enter the market as the second-largest medical technology exhibition in Europe.
UBM, long-time organiser of the former Medtec Europe in Stuttgart, and NürnbergMesse will establish a joint subsidiary company for the purpose of MedtecLIVE. The new exhibition will replace the organisers’ previous formats, Medtec Europe and MT-CONNECT.
“The plan underlying MedtecLIVE emphasises development and innovation, excellent service and a top-level supporting programme – in line with our shared guiding values of ‘Innovate’, ‘Connect’ and ‘Do Business’,” said John van der Valk, managing director, UBM EMEA Amsterdam.
MedtecLIVE looks to be a “matchmaking event” that will become the centre of medical technology innovation in Europe, and aims to bring together experts within the medical technology sector, from suppliers to manufacturers.
With 80,000 employees within its technology science field, Bavaria, according to Bavarian minister of economic affairs Franz Josef Pschierer, “enjoys a leading position in the medical technology field”.
The state of Bavaria contributes to 20 per cent of all medical technology in Germany, and MedtecLIVE will provide the key stimuli for the industry in future.
As a platform, MedtecLIVE strives to bring innovation into medical technology. The MedtecLIVE exhibition will include two forums encouraging people to showcase their products and discuss key ideas, thus expanding knowledge and teaching new concepts.
A key element in the plan is the parallel MedTech Summit Congress, with the MedTech Pharma Forum acting as honorary sponsor for both the exhibition and congress.
