“I watched the action unfold throughout the day from my home country Italy,” said UFI president Corrado Peraboni.
GED18: By the end of the day, the UFI team in Paris had registered activities in 85 countries and regions from all around the world, with the leading organisers, venues and service providers all being active. This year’s success builds on the impressive results from the 2017 campaign, which already set a record for global industry advocacy. Coordinated by UFI, this joint advocacy campaign united 41 GED partner associations.
GED: GED is actively supported by 41 associations as of today, and coordinated by UFI. As with previous GED campaigns, industry professionals, companies, associations and students around the world have been very active in the GED online activities. With 260 million visitors and 4.4 million exhibitors generating €98bn revenues every year, GED highlights the positive impact of exhibitions on jobs, business, innovation and local investment.
UFI estimates that half of exhibition spending benefits host territories directly, and the other half benefits the exhibitions industry, creating or maintaining hundreds of thousands of jobs.
