The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has commissioned Messe Frankfurt to organise German joint stands at around a fifth of its 100-plus events outside Germany.

As Wolfgang Marzin, president and chief executive officer of Messe Frankfurt, said: “For our customers, Messe Frankfurt’s foreign events have been important communication and sales platforms for three decades.”

He added that, particularly for small and medium-sized companies seeking to export, this government measure provides valuable support in the face of global competition: “With the portfolio of services shown there, German pavilions make a key contribution as well as promoting the attractiveness of the traditional ‘Made in Germany’ seal of quality, which is held in high esteem the world over. Having German joint stands supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is a wholly unique approach.”

In cooperation with the Ministry, with German trade fair industry association AUMA and other associations, Messe Frankfurt has been organising joint company stands, special showcases and special events for 20 years.

The company is only available as an organiser for its own group events. All sectors and clusters in the portfolio are represented. In addition to China, India, Japan and Dubai, joint stands are being set up in South Africa, Turkey, the USA and Russia.

Regardless of which country is hosting the event, exhibitors can rely on the standards that they have come to expect from Messe Frankfurt as regards organisation, services and market information.

For instance, the German joint stand at Automechanika Dubai features up to 100 exhibitors, while up to 55 companies are showcased every year at its counterpart in Intersec Dubai.

Messe Frankfurt has been established in the regions around the globe since 1987. Some 39 per cent of the Group’s sales are generated outside Germany and it has 30 subsidiaries worldwide.
