Taking place 12-15 September 2016 – Paris Le Bourget, TEXWORLD and ADVANTEX PARIS boasted buoyant business.

The Paris fashion shows, organised by Messe Frankfurt France, were held in a turbulent economic and political environment that ‘gave little prominence to stakeholders’.

Considering the circumstances, the shows recorded a limited decrease of 4.6 per cent in visitors partly due to visa restrictions.

In contrast, the American continent, represented foremost by Colombia, Argentina and Mexico, posted good results that were up by 5 per cent.

Northern and Eastern Europe also increased their visitors from 13 per cent to 20 per cent on average, following the example of Norway, Finland, Denmark, the Ukraine, Romania, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Austria and Switzerland.

Following repeated increases in numbers of French visitors, the September show confirmed the interest shown by domestic buyers with a rise of 11 per cent.

ELITE, the new segment organised by TEXWORLD to provide a core of producers of fabrics for higher-end markets, received praise. "I feel fortunate to be able to host my customers in a space like ELITE, where the backdrop transported us to the heart of Paris," said Ali Onder Beytekin from Kotonteks.

Co-exhibition APPAREL SOURCING PARIS, meanwhile, generated a 37.5 per cent increase in exhibitors.
