The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) have formed a partnership designed to extend reciprocal membership privileges to members of both organisations.
Benefits will include member pricing for all products and services offered by the two organisations, recognition of professional designations, sharing of research data, the creation of jointly sponsored activities and events, and invitations for association leaders to participate in major events.
"We are honoured to be a part of this burgeoning segment of the global exhibitions and events industry,” said IAEE president David DuBois.
He added that MACEOS’s collaboration with the Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MCEB) showed a strong commitment to the development of exhibitions and events in south east Asia.
MACEOS chief executive Amos Wong said: "We are very pleased and honoured by establishing this reciprocity agreement with IAEE, an association known for their quality training and educational practices, and where MACEOS members can benefit in their upskilling process for the coming years."
Established in 1990, MACEOS comprises 84 member companies representing the exhibition and event organisers, as well as suppliers. The association’s goals are supported by the MCEB, which was founded by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in 2009.
Founded in 1928, IAEE is the world's largest association for the exhibitions and events industry, comprising organisers of more than 20,000 exhibitions and buyer-seller events worldwide.
