City change quadruples Transport Security Expo preregistration

UK - The Transport Security Expo will stay in London “for the foreseeable future” after preregistered visitor numbers quadrupled compared to previous shows in other cities.

At the time of the exhibition’s opening, more than 3,300 people had pre-registered as visitors. The number is more than four times the 743 pre-registrations for the 2009 show, which took place in Amsterdam.

The show has travelled all over the world in its eight-year history, taking place in cities including Frankfurt and Hong Kong.

“Transport security is a very serious market and these are very serious buyers. The destination for a show can make or break an event,” said Peter Jones, show director and owner of organiser Niche Events. “Next year is in London. After moving around the world for the last eight years, I’m a firm believer in ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.

“The 2012 Olympics have put London in the spotlight,”  he added.
