Access Intelligence sells events to focus on other markets

WORLD - Compliance solutions provider Access Intelligence (AI) has sold assets, including events, from its chemical and energy groups to HIS Inc., a global information and services firm.

Terms of the deal have not been revealed but, in addition to a number of conferences, seminars and round table events, the disposals include Chemical Week magazine and marketing intelligence company SRI Consulting.

“Over the past year, several major players in the high value information marketplace have approached us and expressed interest in our chemical and energy information products,” AI CEO Don Pazour said in a statement.

Pazour also said AI was not looking to sell any other pieces of the business. The company, he said, wanted to focus on building its assets in the healthcare market and in other industry events.

“We still have a very good infrastructure for events,” Pazour added. “Our largest conference, the annual Satellite Conference and Exposition, managed to grow during the global recession.” The tradeshow attracts roughly 8,000 attendees per year, as well as more than 200 exhibitors.
