CommunicAsia increases its international draw

SINGAPORE – More than 55,000 local and international exhibitors, visitors, speakers and delegates attended this week’s CommunicAsia2010 at Singapore Expo.

The three day event saw more overseas visitors this year, with visitors from key Asia Pacific markets like China, India, Japan and Korea all seeing double digit growth compared with the figures for last year.

“The increase in overseas attendees, particular those from the Asia Pacific region, reflects the anticipated rebound in IT and media spending, and how companies are ready to invest for further growth in Asia,” said chief executive of show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), Stephen Tan.

Tan also told EW that the event would benefit from the expansion to Singapore Expo's convention and conference facilities, planned to take place next year.

The exhibition, which also housed BroadcastAsia2010, was heavily affected by rain on Wednesday, which caused flooding in several areas of Singapore.
