HKECIA announces new exec committee on 20th birthday

Hong Kong - The Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) has announced a new executive committee.

The new chairman for the association between 2010-2012 is Daniel Cheung, GM of Allworld Exhibitions - Hong Kong Exhibition Services. The GM of Kenfair International Javed Khan takes the role of executive vice chairman, while MD of AMC Exhibits, Cramond Wong and MD and CEO of MMI Asia, Asia Pacific, Ronald Unterburger become joint vice chairmen.

Accepting the new role, Cheung thanked the contribution of the past chairmen, who he claimed had “laid a solid foundation” for the association. “I sincerely hope that all members of the association continue to offer their support and work together to maintain Hong Kong’s leading position in the exhibition and convention in the region,” he commented.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary, the HKECIA has published a book featuring the history of the association and the development of exhibition industry in Hong Kong.

A ‘time tunnel’ presenting the exhibition industry of Hong Kong will be on display at the Expo Galleria inside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre until 30 May 2010.
