Middle East show attracts strong exhibitor numbers

DUBAI - The Middle East’s travel trade show Arabian Travel Market (ATM) has attracted 15 per cent more exhibitors than 2009, organiser Reed Travel Exhibitions has announced.

The final number comes in at 2,100, and included first time exhibitors from countries like Fiji and Romania.

"Last year, all the focus was on the difficult financial situation. This year we’re seeing real positivity. More than 60 tourist boards are taking part and we feel the show has scope for even further growth in the future," says group exhibition director at Reed, Mark Walsh.

Walsh says the show acts as a barometer for the industry’s health and the rise in exhibitor numbers is also due to "increased interest from the tourism industry".

ATM takes place on 5 to 8 May 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
