The Venetian Resort has announced a name change and other updates at its 209,031sqm convention centre and expo facility, the largest private convention facility in the United States. Las Vegas Sands Corporation sold the Sands Expo, Venetian and Palazzo resorts along with its other Las Vegas properties back in March, as the company shifted its focus to Asia.
As of 2 September, the names of two venues will change:
- The Sands Expo & Convention Center will be referred to as The Venetian Expo.
- The Venetian Congress Center will be referred to as The Venetian Convention Center.
George Markantonis, president and COO of The Venetian Resort, said: “Although their names are changing, you can expect the same unmatched service from our team members in these venues.”
Chandra Allison, senior vice-president of sales for The Venetian Resort, added: “It's great to have bookings for our meetings business so strong as we look to the second half of the year.”
This year, The Venetian Expo will host several of the top 25 trade shows in the United States, including ISC West, HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, JCK Las Vegas, and American Urological Association.
In addition, the resort has begun booking for its newest meeting room over 743sqm, The Stella Studio.
The Venetian Resort has also launched its Venetian Meetings Virtual Planner®, a tool aimed at MICE professionals. This application allows customers to customise and research venues prior to contacting a representative at the resort. In addition to providing the dimensions and capacities for each venue, Venetian Meetings Virtual Planner takes users through a virtual tour of the venues and provides fly-through videos and photos. Once a user has determined their event space, they are able to design a configuration to suit their needs, in two and three dimensions, and attach the customised layout to the RFP.
