Following the postponement of the MIPIM annual international property fair in Cannes, France, due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus, Reed MIDEM has announced that MIPTV 2020, scheduled to take place 30 March-2 April in Cannes has been cancelled, along with MIPDoc and MIPFormats.
While MIPIM is pushed back to 2-5 June, the next edition of MIPTV will take place 12-15 April, 2021, with MIPDoc (the world's largest conference and co-production marketplace and sceenings library for the factual community) and MIPFormats (the largest gathering of the world's leading producers, buyers, distributors and creators of TV formats) scheduled for 10-11 April 2021, and Season 4 of CANNESERIES to be held in April 2021 during MIPTV.
“In the current context, many of our clients have expressed concerns about travelling at this time. Rescheduling MIPTV in the coming months is not feasible, so the most appropriate course of action is to cancel MIPTV for 2020,” said Paul Zilk, Reed MIDEM Chief Executive.
“The wellbeing of our clients, partners and staff is our priority. We are grateful to clients for their support and constructive input during this challenging period. We look forward to welcoming everyone to MIPCOM 12-15 October and we are delighted that CANNESERIES will be at our side again this year,” Zilk added.
