Jimé Essink, former President and CEO Informa Markets in Asia, is to join the Board of specialist exhibition and conference industry consultancy, jwc.
Essink will join the Germany-based team as of 1 June, 2020.
He has worked for nearly 30 years in leading B2B media businesses in emerging and developed markets throughout Asia, South America and Europe. His roles include CEO of VNU Exhibitions Europe and President of VNU Exhibitions Asia.
In November 2007 Jimé was appointed CEO of UBM Asia, where he was responsible for the transition of the company to become the leading exhibition organiser in Asia. After the merger of UBM with Informa in 2018, he led the integration of the operations and became President of the combined business before retiring from Informa at the end of 2019.
Essink’s responsibilities within jwc will be to support jwc’s clients in the areas of growth strategy, product development, M&A and divestures, strategic partnerships and organisation.
