IMEX claims 3,800 hosted buyers at its Frankfurt show

IMEX NEWS - IMEX has followed up its increase in exhibitor numbers with a claim that 3,800 hosted buyers are attending its 2010 show in Frankfurt.

Registrations are up 80 per cent from South America and 50 per cent from both Asia and Australia, the organiser claims.

MD Paul Flackett said that stand design had been 'very effective', especially from first-time exhibitors.

A record 30 politicians attended the Politicians Forum which had been, according to IMEX chairman Ray Bloom, 'more important than ever'.

Over 600 guests attended the Gala Dinner, with the JMIC Unity Award presented to director of the Vienna Convention Bureau, Christian Mutschlechner, pictured.

In the Green section, gold awards went to the COP15 Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen; Tourism Toronto; the Switzerland Convention and Incentives Bureau and the Adelaide Convention Centre.

IMEX Group chairman Ray Bloom also gave new details on IMEX’s plans to expand into North America, with MPI as a new strategic partner, he promised to bring the largest number of hosted buyers to any single trade show in the US.
