Gábor Ganczer, the CEO of Hungexpo, has been appointed the managing director of GL events Italia. He replaces Lamberto Mancini. Ganczer will continue to hold his position as CEO of Hungexpo, another GL events company.
Ganczer is credited with repositioning Hungexpo Budapest in recent years and he will be tasked with improving the operations of Lingotto Fiere, as well as strengthening relations with the institutions of the city and the province of Piedmont.
“I am proud that, as a Hungarian company manager, I won this assignment in a highly competitive international environment, which I consider a huge honour and challenge at the same time. This is not only my achievement, but also that of the Hungexpo team. I count on the expertise and help of my colleagues to live up to this new challenge,” said Ganczer.
Ganczer joined Hungexpo in 2009 from the position of deputy general manager of the Accor Hungary group. The majority owner of Hungexpo is France’s GL events.
Under Ganczer's management, Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre became the most important congress and exhibition centre in Hungary. The CEO has been the president of MARESZ, the Hungarian Association of Event Organisers and Service Providers since 2010, and from November 2022 he is a board member of UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry.
Lingotto Fiere is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange. It offers integrated solutions and services in three main market segments: congresses and conferences; cultural, sports and diplomatic events; trade fairs and consumer exhibitions.
