Hamburg Messe und Congress, will organise its first fully physical event of the Covid-19 era, with the premiere of PHOTOPIA, a trade show for the digital imaging industry, 23-26 September. The four-day event focuses on the entire Digital Imaging industry as well as all those whose business or enthusiasm focuses on photography and filming.
Bernd Aufderheide (pictured), president and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress, said: “For the past 18 months we have been experiencing a global crisis of previously unknown dimensions, so we cannot pretend everything is just fine now. Nevertheless, the low current incidence rate, the progressing vaccination campaign and a wide range of available testing options all help us make the launch of this project a reality this year. We want PHOTOPIA Hamburg to send a strong signal over the coming years and join hands with the industry to develop it into something great.”
The design for the PHOTOPIA Hamburg exhibition halls is intended to cause a stir. Built from more than 350 cargo containers, the design pays homage to Hamburg as the gateway to the world.
The event will feature young talents and well-known artists from the photography scene on two show stages. Apart from keynote speeches, presentations and masterclasses, the programme will include exhibitions, workshops, photo walks and more. Under the label ‘Creative Content Conference’, a four-day conference for professional photographers and creative artists will highlight current trends in professional photography and video production while providing a networking platform for attendees.
