There was a time when mobile apps for events were just a replacement for the printed guide. But technology took care of that and those days are long gone.
Yet for all these advancements, are you really ensuring attendees are taking advantage of all that’s on offer with mobile apps and maximising their experience at events?
For example, messaging: make sure your attendees can view who else is at the event and connect with them to send messages and network with one another. Include speakers and exhibitors on there to encourage interactions between all parties involved in the event, and use this feature to interact with your audience too.
Don’t forget polling and questions too: use this to make your sessions more interactive, take questions in advance for the presenters or have your speakers ask questions during their presentation and show live results of these polls on stage.
Make sure you integrate survey forms to capture feedback from your attendees as soon as they have attended a sessions to increase response rates and also encourage attendees to experience more of the elements of your event by setting up competitions which require them to attend specific activities. You might think about offering a prize to incentivise people to participate more fully during the event.
Finally iBeacons is a great new feature app which allows you to send location based personalised offers to attendees or to ask them to complete a task based on what they’ve just done.
