Formnext + PM South China, an inaugural exhibition for the Chinese manufacturing industry, was held at Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Centre, 9-11 September, with 199 exhibitors and 9,330 visitors participating.
The 15,000sqm floor space saw stands from additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, design, software and processing technologies. The event also saw academics and experts discussing the emerging trends within the industry both in the region and worldwide.
Shenzhen is the high-tech manufacturing hub of southern China and aims to be a successful location for the new fair. Oragnisers hope that Formnext + PM South China will serve as a platform for enhancing the latest innovations in additive manufacturing and powder metallurgy across the region.
Formnext + PM South China is a combination of the industry’s global exhibitions, Formnext in Frankfurt and PM China in Shanghai.
Jiadong Sun, general manager of Greater China’s Formlads, said: “Formnext in Germany is a leading and influential trade fair, so we were excited to participate at this first edition... South China is a pivotal region for the 3D printing and manufacturing industries. The domestic 3D printing industry has a lot of potential, with one-third or more of the global industry turnover from Chinese companies in recent years, and this will only grow to a larger share.”
Feng Tan, technology applications engineer at Air Products, added: “We are a loyal participant at PM China in Shanghai, and this is our first time attending Formnext + PM China in Shenzhen. Through our participation at the Shenzhen fair, we hope to expand our network and promote our solutions to more manufacturing firms in the region.”
The next edition of Formnext + PM South China will take place in Shenzhen 14–16 September 2022. To find out more about the fair, click here.
