Coex, Seoul’s largest convention and exhibition centre, has announced a strategic partnership with NexTech AR Solutions, provider of virtual and augmented reality (AR) experience technologies and services for conferences and events.
Coex had extended its business to offer virtual and hybrid event services to bridge the physical and virtual worlds during these Covid times. Now the partnership with NexTech adds interactive features to the mix at Coex.
“Korea is home to some of the world’s leading businesses and technologies. We are excited to partner with Coex and believe it is just the beginning of our rapid growth into Asia,” said Evan Gappelberg, CEO of NexTech AR.
NexTech’s virtual event platform can cater all types of events and ranges from AR for 3D product modelling and human holograms to enterprise scale streaming services.
“Post-Covid, hybrid events will become the new standard and these unique elements will help the events stand out,” said Yau Bon Lim, president and managing director, Asia Pacific at NexTech AR.
Coex hosts over 200 exhibitions and 3,000 meetings and events at the its convention and exhibition centre on an annual basis, and organises numerous in-house exhibitions throughout Korea and abroad.
A report by Allied Market Research notes that the Asia-Pacific MICE industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.6% to reach US$441.1bn by 2025, providing a significant opportunity for virtual and hybrid events.
