BEX Asia 2011 attract 25% more exhibitors

SINGAPORE – The organiser of Asian green building expo, Build Eco Xpo (BEX Asia 2011), claims to have signed up 25 per cent more exhibitors year-on-year.

Organiser Reed Exhibitions said 250 participating companies from 28 countries are exhibiting at this year’s show, running from 14 to 16 September at the Suntec Convention Centre.

“Since the inception of BEX Asia, the event has more than doubled in size,” said MD of Singapore and Malaysia at Reed Exhibitions Michelle Lim. “This is clear testimony that BEX Asia has established itself as a meaningful regional platform for green building practitioners from the region to learn about the latest solutions and technologies, as well as for knowledge sharing and networking.

“With the diverse selection of green solutions on showcase and the record number of participants expected, BEX Asia 2011 is well poised to accelerate the adoption of green technologies for a more sustainable environment.”

BEX Asia will showcase green building architecture, design, products, practices and technologies for environmental sustainability. This year’s event is expected to attract 8,000 industry practitioners, professionals and buyers from the region.

“The Green Building movement is gathering pace in the face of greater challenges of climate change and resource efficiency,” said president of the Singapore Green Building Council Tai Lee Siang.

BEX Asia 2011 is being held concurrently with the International Green Building Conference (IGBC 2011) themed “Build Green. Act Now”. IGBC 2011 is organised by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and will address challenges and explore solutions in green building development including innovative, sustainable and actionable solutions for the tropics and sub-tropics.
