ADNEC sails into October events fest with International Boat Show

The inaugural Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS 2018), which comes to Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) 17-20 October, is set to push Abu Dhabi into new waters as a global leisure marine destination.

October promises some very busy waters for ADNEC, which will host 10 leading regional and international events across key sectors at its Abu Dhabi and Al Ain venues during the month of October.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC, said: “These events are of strategic importance since they target key sectors identified in the Abu Dhabi Plan and Economic Vision 2030, the most prominent of which are healthcare, culture, business, and entertainment. We believe this will support our continued efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as the regional business tourism capital.”

Al Dhaheri emphasised ADNEC would not be resting on its laurels and was keen to keep developing its infrastructure in accordance with the highest international standards.

“We are proud of our teams, composed mainly of highly skilled and trained UAE nationals. They demonstrate uppermost levels of efficiency, professionalism and dedication to ensure these highly-awaited events meet the finest global standards, and successfully contribute to promoting Abu Dhabi’s global position and reputation,” Al Dhaheri added.

ADIBS takes place at the ADNEC Marina and organisers aim to offer visitors a big opportunity to learn about the UAE’s rich marine heritage and the development of the leisure marine and yacht industry in the Emirate. The local authorities also hope it will contribute to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s marine tourism sector.

Other big events this month include the 2nd edition of the ‘Mohammed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations’ event, 8-9 October, under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE's Armed Forces. This year, the event will include a wide range of activities and discussions, where students will present innovative experiments that highlight the role of youth in building the nation.

A number of speakers, experts and local and international organisations will participate in five key areas such as science and technology, culture, media and arts, entrepreneurship and leadership, development, as well as sports and fitness.

The 5th Rehabilitation, Long Term & Home Care Conference 2018, 11-12 October, comes to ADNEC to highlight the major developments in rehabilitation services and medicine.

While investors and entrepreneurs will meet at the venue, 17-18 October, for the International Franchise Exhibition 2018.

The Abu Dhabi International Mental Health Conference also gets underway 18-20 October, followed, 20-22 October by Gulf Dentex 2018.

The end of the month will also see ADNEC host Middle East Games Con 2018 (25-27 October), the largest of its kind in the Middle East,  and the Jewellery & Watch Show 2018, 25-29 October.

Over at Al Ain Convention Centre the International Zoo Educators Association (IZE) Conference comes to town 13-18 October.

In 2017, ADNEC’s venues in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain attracted more than 2m visitors through 442 local, regional and international events.
