AAG 2024 ready to motor as China’s automotive aftermarket booms

China’s Auto Aftermarket Guangzhou (AAG) 2024 is set to return, bringing international automotive aftermarket players together as the sector experiences robust growth. An upswing in production and sales of cars, coupled with rising consumer demand in China for a diverse range of related products and services is driving this market.

AAG will supply full coverage of this supply chain when it opens at the Poly World Trade Expo Center (PWTC Expo) in Guangzhou, 28-30 August 2024 for an edition likely to take up 70,000sqm of exhibition space across six halls and host 1,500 exhibitors.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) is an important national economic development initiative for China. It serves as a gateway for multinational companies accessing the mainland market and is known as a hub for innovation. AAG is therefore an important platform for international trade, in addition to the advancement of after-sales car care in South China.

China has led the global production and sales of vehicles for 15 consecutive years. In 2023, figures reached record highs of 30.1m units, representing a year-on-year growth of 11.6%. This surge has elevated the significance of the aftermarket within China’s automotive industry.

Parts and components
As consumer expectations grow, companies that manufacture automotive parts and components must rise up to meet new technical demands and market challenges by strengthening R&D capabilities to produce cutting-edge technologies and premium parts.

As intelligence and electrification are becoming non-negotiables for drivers, the rapid development of new energy vehicles has brought new opportunities to the automotive aftermarket. This year, AAG will continue to leverage resources across driving systems, chassis, body, and standard mechanical parts for new energy vehicles, displaying auto parts products in Halls 1, 3, 5 and 6, with an exhibition area of 40,000sqm.

As an upswing of the rising younger population gaining more purchasing power, drivers are placing more emphasis on automotive customising and driving services. At the same time, the rapid advancement of intelligent driving technology has also opened up new avenues in the segment, which are creating opportunities for automotive manufacturers looking to swiftly integrate and develop specialised products and frameworks.

To spotlight these trends, the exhibition will introduce the Accessories & Customising and Driving Services sectors, hosting leading brands with related products in Halls 2 and 4.

The show is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd (Sinomachint).
