dmg events has continued its expansion in Africa with the upcoming launch of the Mozambique Ports and Rail Evolution Forum, which will take place in the capital city Maputo on 13-14 May.
The forum joins two existing transport events already taking place in Africa – African Ports and Rail Evolution and West African Ports and Rail Evolution – and comes as Mozambique expects to invest more than $13bn into port, railway and corridor infrastructure developments and upgrades.
“That’s the kind of long-term investment programme that helps shape our strategy in the region,” commented Devi Paulsen (pictured), vice president of dmg events Africa. “As we look to further our expansion into the key markets and essential industries on the continent we will continue to comb economic data for the investment indicators we know will help us deliver great events for our exhibitors in dynamic markets.”
The third edition of West African Ports and Rail Evolution will take place in Nigeria later this year, as will The Big Five Construct Nigeria, a geo-clone of the company's established construction brand. The events are benefitting from sustained investment from dmg in its Africa operations, which includes two new South Africa offices and a third in Egypt.
“This is part of our significant commitment to the region,” continued Paulsen. “Being onsite helps us to better reach our audience and understand the needs of the markets where we operate.”
