The international green economy business comes to Chengdu, China, for the 15thedition of the Chengdu Environmental Protection Expo (CDEPE) 21-23 March.

The event, the largest environmental protection expo in Western China, is organised by Europe China Environmental Exhibitions (ECEE), a company founded by organiser Xin Zhong Lian Exhibitions and EAGLE - Europe Asia Global Link Exhibitions, Italian Exhibition Group (IEG)’s special-purpose entity which last September acquired 60% of the tradeshow.

The capital city of Sichuan (southwest China) hopes to welcome an increasing number of Chinese and international enterprises and buyers of the circular economy and green technology.

The 2019 edition of CDEPE will tap in to the expertise of IEG’s Ecomondo, which next runs at Rimini Expo Centre 5-8 November 2019 (https://en.ecomondo.com) and for the first time will present its new format for the green technology industry in Southwest China, with the support of the Sichuan Environmental Protection Industry Association.

Alessandra Astolfi, IEG’s Group Brand manager, Green and Technology Division, told CMW: “We have exported to CDEPE Ecomondo’s know-how, which, thanks to its innovative format, has enabled Ecomondo to become the top European expo for the circular economy and sustainable resources.”

Astolfi added that, for exhibitors at CDEPE, meetings with Chinese buyers would be facilitated by an online business match-making platform.

Waste management, water management, clean air, environmental efficiency and remediation will be the main issues that CDEPE 2019 will cover with the support of Chinese and Italian institutions.

Organised with the support of the Italian Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea and of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, the China Ecology and Environment Forum, which forms part of CDEPE, will highlight the topic ‘Economic Development and Protection of Environment and Ecology along large river basins - Yantze River’.

The forum will be held simultaneously with World Water Day (22 March) and organisers promise two plenary sessions.

Organisers expect 400 exhibiting companies in a gross exhibition area of approximately 30,000sqm.
