Messe Frankfurt has launched a new StreetScooter for zero-emission deliveries on its exhibition grounds.

The electric vehicles are being used as part of a two-year trial, aiming to expand mobilty and reduce environmental impact at the same time.

The Messe Frankfurt grounds are the size of 90 football pitches, and contain 11 exhibition halls. As such, it is important for exhibitors and visitors to be able to navigate the gorunds quickly.

Uwe Behm, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt (pictured), commented: “Now, carpeting, signage and even break-time snacks can be moved around the exhibition grounds in a climate-neutral manner by Messe Frankfurt’s service partners.

“With the deployment of StreetScooters, the company has made an investment in the improvement of its ecological footprint.”

Messe Frankfurt has been promoting electromobility for quite some time now. In 2011 the company purchased the first electric Mercedes Benz A- Class car, and has also utilised a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle on the exhibition grounds.

Today, Messe Frankfurt’s fleet boasts multiple electric cars, and Messe Frankfurt makes its charging infrastructure available to exhibitors and visitors at its trade fairs as well, with thirteen charging stations on the exhibition grounds.
