Events for Namuwongo (EFN), a philanthropic network of events industry companies supporting the work of Hope for Children in the slum of Namuwongo, Uganda, has been shortlisted in the Charity Film Awards.
EFN is calling on the industry to vote for the film, which has raised more than £900,000 and helped an estimated 30,000 people since it was established in 2011 at the Global Event Summit. The charity is led by Chris Hughes of Brand Events (chairman) and Trevor Foley of tfconnect (CEO).
The charity’s patron companies are: Brand Events, Clarion Events, CloserStill Media, Diversified Communications, Easyfairs, ExCeL London, Freeman, Mack Brooks Group, Montgomery, Quartz Business Media, Reed Exhibitions, Tarsus Group, tfconnect, the NEC and UBM. Industry figures Hugh Keeble and Phil Soar have also made personal donations.
