The Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) was recently the host of Kind Malaysia 2018, which aimed to promote responsible business practice.

The event ran from 24-25 October, and promoted MITEC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, #myWORLD. The programme works towards reducing the company’s environmental impact and driving sustainability.

The programme is also a commitment to achieve the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs). SDGs entail a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all enjoy peace and prosperity.

The SDGs supported by MITEC include good health and well-being (goal 3); quality education (goal 4); sustainable cities and communities (goal 11); life on land (goal 15) and partnerships for the goals (goal 17).

MITEC’s #myWorld programme encourages stakeholders to be involved with the Centre’s goal to produce better experiences for a better planet, and a reduced environmental footprint.

Gunther Beissel, CEO of MITEC, said: “MITEC announced the collaboration with UBM in July this year for Kind Malaysia 2018, and we are glad to see the success of the event. It is truly an honour to partner and host Kind Malaysia with UBM.”

At the end of Kind Malaysia, MITEC successfully reached out to 237 visitors who have pledged their commitment to sustainability.
