The Promotional Product Service Institute (PSI) recently hosted its 2018 PSI Sustainability Awards, recognising those in the industry contributing positively towards the environment.
The awards were held at the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, Germany on 7 September, and were preceded by a PSI sustainability summit, where industry and business representatives gathered to exchange ideas.
Among the winners of the sustainability awards were packaging/advertising company Karl Knauer KG, who took home the economic excellence, environmental excellence, and sustainable company of the year awards.
The social excellence award went to Halfar System GmbH, who PSI says “have succeeded in merging family-friendliness, inclusion and integration with their corporate DNA over their company history.”
The sustainable product award went to Verlag fur Pravention Wilken, whose family cook book contains a harvest season calendar, and is printed on 100% waste paper. Printing ink is also sustainably manufactured.
Best sustainable campaign went to Join the Pipe BV, for their reusable bottle produced and filled with water locally. Thanks to the long service life, the bottle can be used in developing countries without requiring waste management.
The PSI has been serving the European promotional products industry and its market participants as a service provider and networking platform for over 50 years now. Its services include personalised consultation and product research as well as marketing, professional training, industry contacts and online product search solutions.
