A record 72% of event organizers reported a rise in sales revenue from exhibit space at their most recent event, according to a new survey from Lippman Connects.

The 2018 Benchmarks & Trends in Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales was conducted in conjunction with Exhibit Sales Roundtable (ESR).

It also found that only 15% of organisers saw a decline in exhibit sales revenue, and 13% reported no change. 47% of respondents attributed the growth to a more aggressive sales effort.

In a parallel finding, 66% of respondents reported a rise in sponsorship revenues from their most recent event, topping a three-year growth trend. Only 8% reported declining revenue, and 20% reported no change.

Sam Lippman, President of Lippman Connects, said: “The rising level of professionalism among event sales professionals is paying steep dividends for organisers making the investment.”

The research is conducted annually by Lippman Connects, Freeman, and Trade Show Executive. A 2-page summary can be downloaded from Lippman Connects’ website, and the full 31-page study can be purchased for $345.
